Cards & One Day at a Time
Heard a song on Letterman tonight by Ben Kweller.
He sang how some days are Ace's, some are like faces, and some 2's and 3's. I am going to enjoy some 2's and 3's. Not this week though. Some special events that I am looking forward to.
Have a good day!!!

Winter Version of Stop and Smell the Roses!!!
Time for me to slow down and listen to myself. I am trying to jump into Spring and I am missing some of the joys of Winter in Wisconsin.
Hot chocolate is one of them. I am so busy WAITING for Spring that I have missed some good quiet times. Here I go again, living from event to event.
So, I said to myself "self, One Day at a Time."

Tuesday January 20
Today my son-in-law leaves for Iraq. AGAIN! Please pray for him and Kyla and kids.
Today is also a new day with a new President. Please pray for Pres Obama. That is our
responsibility as Christians in America. I believe it is going to get very interesting.

CARDS
I Was thinking about cards a few night ago and remembered a pair of cards that we found at my
Grandma Henning's house. They were Grandpa's and they were girly cards from gas stations or bars that were quite common in the 60's. It was the summer between 6th and 7th grade and we thought we had really found something until Grandma showed up and took them away. She was pissed at Grandpa. They immediately went into the burn barrel. I rem Doug and I looking in the barrel for them. She didn't even rip them up. T-4, I can't rem if you were in on the retrieval or not. They were more realistic than these. Looked on Ebay and if we would have saved them they would be worth some good money now. I don't think it ruined my childhood or anything.
Cartoons and teen singers are almost as bold as these cards were. Thanks for taking a trip down memory lane with me.

The Devil's Pastime
I find it hard to believe that my Grandma Keough really believed cards were evil. When I think of cards only good memories come flooding in. Some of the best times were at the kitchen table after supper just playing cards. I rem thinking that Rick was never going to understand how to play. Tonight Grandpa and Roz played cribbage. She is getting the basic ideas down. Let's try and play cards more. I know we all are busy and scurry to and fro but wouldn't it be fun?
Maybe I just have cabin fever. Roz was hoping for school tomorrow because she is bored. There is a big difference in not going anywhere and not being able to go anywhere. This too shall pass!!!

My Twin
I'd like you to meet my childhood idol. One of many. This is Katy Keene! She has all the latest fashions and many boyfriends. She is the reason I bought my first computer in 98. I was looking for some comics from the 50's and couldn't find any. Rita did find me one but I wanted more. I have now a comic book collection worth more than my wedding ring. I still enjoy looking at fashion. I wonder if anyone else has ever heard of her. (in my circle)
