My new grandog. Isn't she pretty. She is a Pom and her name is Gracie. Not quite sure if the spelling is right.

She is keeping Emily young. They play and roll around.

Roz and family are loving her. She came over tonight for her first visit.

The Last 10 Days

This is me for the last
10 days!! I have a UTI and have been setting at the computer playing games for a week now.
I have so much other good stuff to share but this is it for now.

This is the perfect set-up. Now, if the seat reclines and there was a cup holder for my water, it would be perfect. One stop living.

One in a Million Friend!!!

What a nice surprise!!! My friend Rosemary gave me a call. She is one of those friends that

gives me a lift and we have some good laughs. Well, tonight was no different. She is one of the 2 friends that I still have contact with from my LaLa Land days. People have told me I should write a story of my life. There would be some really good chapters in that book about me and Rose. Just thinking about some of them make me SMILE!!!

OH I Just Love Your Purse

My sister Rita has a thing for purses. Almost every purse I have ever owned I received from her or my Mom. This beauty was purchased at a garage sale about 5 years ago. I paid .50 for it.

I thought it would be good to store thread, needles, etc. That is what I used it for for a long time.

Then Amy saw it and said she really like it. I took a second look and decided I did too. I have never gotten so many comments on my purse. From nurses, Dr (female), checkout clerks, friends, neighbors etc. Rick asked me if that hay thing was my purse. Silly guy!!!

It is almost Labor Day and I know it isn't white but I will probably put it away for fall and winter.

AUGUST 22, 2009 BIG DAY

JOHN & DONNA BOMKAMP 50th Wedding Anniversary! Great party and it was great to see the whole family again.

Grandpa took Roz for another water ski lesson. As you can see, she loves it.

Then tonight we went to see Lex in a show. As always she was terrific.

And the entire day it is Rita's 60th Birthday. WOW

ROZ Water Skiing

She loved it. Grandpa took her down to Rock Aqua Jays clinic to learn how to water ski. 2 more Saturdays to go.

Garage Sale Tale

It's me. I've fallen and I can't get up. Good thing I have angels watching over me. A CNA stopped and helped me. Bloody nose and all. I am up in the middle of the night because I ache all over.
Jared and Roz are a good team to go rummaging with. We had a good time even after my fall.

HUGGIN' COUSINS

Last week Kyla and the kids went back to NC. It was such a blessing to have them around for 6 weeks this summer. They are growing up so fast. This is Roz and Hanna saying goodbye. This summer we found out that Kyla's mother in-law and Roz's best friend's father are cousins. So that makes Hanna and Anna cousins and then they decided if Hanna and Roz are cousins then they are now also cousins. Is there such a thing as step-cousins. : )

MY LUCKY DAY

I (actually Llyle) found the missing one and I received the new one in the mail. It was in a very logical place. My finding skills are fading also. I remember thinking my Mom could find anything.

New card in the mail in 3 to 5 business days. I know it is in this house somewhere. But, to be safe I cancelled it and I am getting a new number. Isn't he a sweetheart to do this? I sure think so.

Monday Night Fun

This is me tonight when I look for my credit card I think I threw away in the trash. Gross!!! It seems that I have been going through our garbage on a regular basis lately. The more organized I try to be the harder it is to find things. I'll let you know if I find it. If I don't I will need to call and get a new number etc. It has to be in this house somewhere.

I'm feeling so much better that anytime now this will be me and Grandpa.

Depression

This is how I have been feeling. For about 6 months everything was black. I would drag myself out of bed and face the day. Ugh!!! Then I noticed that even some of my favorite people and places didn't make me feel any better. First I thought it was the winter and I don't go out much when it is -30.

But it kept getting darker and darker.

I finally realized I needed to talk to my Dr abouth this. Two weeks ago I went and was put on an antidepressant. I cannot begin to tell you the difference this has made in me. Oh my, I'm back to living one day at a time.

Roz went to a garage sale down the street and bought me this
beautiful Barbie Christmas Tree. Just what I always wanted. I will cherish it forever. Hey, it might just be our tree for 2009. Sweet!!!

The jokes about Willow were not funny. Finally, it seems like there is a limit. I heard him apologize in a much more sincere way on tonight's show.

I don't think a movie about an alcoholic blackout is funny either.
Have you ever had one?. Walk around sing, dance, drive, have sex and be totally unaware of it. Never to regain the memory.

Thank God for AA and recovery.

Obble Gobble Gobble

Llyle took some days of vacation and came home with this turkey. He is sooo happy!! I guess he is going to have it smoked. I'll let you know how it goes. Many hours and miles went into this catch. A lot of turkey scounting for 2 months now. Now he must wait until next year to do it again.
But, the boat is ready to go.

Amazing Friend

This is one amazing man. He woke up one morning about 5 weeks ago paralyzed. A disc slipped in his neck and he was rushed to the hospital. It was a miracle that the ONLY Doctor that worked with this kind of injury was there. She was to leave the day before to a new assignment. But, she
was still there. After surgery Chuck was taken to the VA Hospital in Madison for a few weeks. He is up walking around and has a good attitude. This same Dr has told him that 99% of people with this kind of injury never get out of a wheelchair. His fancy necklace is a device that vibrates and
helps blend the rods in his neck to the bone. He must wear it for at least 4 hours a day.
Please pray for him and his family. He needs to heal for at least a year. If he falls or has something else happen that is the end of his recovery. One shot at this surgery is all you get.
I am so impressed with his good attitude.

This is the bathrobe I will have on when you stop over to my house in Circle City. It is chenille and just lovely. I found it in the Sears catalog of 1944. Pink or Blue for ONLY 4.98. I will take orders. They might be on back order. Lately it seems everything I order is. ;-)

The moon slipped past the planet Venus tonight. Venus is the brillant "evening star". They are in the west as night falls with Venus just right of the moon.

The second picture is off a website. Taken in Dec. This is how bright they were tonight. Our little camera couldn't do it justice.

My Weak Week!!! HAHAHAHAHA

My headache has turned into a full blown sinus infection! Had a few days after my cold that I thought "maybe" I won't have it turn into an infection. Saturday I woke up and thought no I am getting sicker. Went to Urgent Care and got fixed up. It is great to have all my records on the computer and they believe me now. Speaking up for myself is new to me. These professionals work for me and I pay them. Glad I figured that out. It makes the whole process so much easier.

BUT, to put everyone's medical records on computers is just one step closer to socialized medicine. I don't want my insurance co or medical records dictating what kind of service I receive. I know to some extent it already does, but I think it will get worse down the road.

I also did our taxes online this week. Thought I just might take them to my old boss and changed my mind. I wasn't up to it I thought. I was though. They are making it easier and easier to do them online. Wisconsin doesn't tax our Social Security anymore. YAAAA!!!!! COOL!!! Where' the money!!! COMING!!!

Head Hurts!!!!

I have a head cold. Oh my!!! It is hard to have a runny nose with a hose in your nose. Makes blowing your nose a little more difficult. But doable. Going to lay low and get over this.

Being sick is such a waste of time.

BOOKS!!!
I want them, I need them, I love them. I am sorting out my piles of treasures. Oh sweet books. Movies are OK and TV is sort of ok. But, books are wonderful.

I found my very first Nancy Drew book. My first visit to the Clinton Public Library was a gotcha experience for me. I can remember standing there looking at all the books and being overwhelmed with joy. We come
from a long line of readers. I hope this continues on as a family tradition.
